The indigenous people in the Amazon in Peru live under constant pressure from the outer world who want to exploit the resources of the Amazon for personal
financial gain.
Natural resources are destroyed and tribes expelled from their homes.
With this project we want to do what we can to prevent people being chased from their homes, and natural resources that are important not only for
the Amazon but for the whole planet to be destroyed.
And we need YOUR help!
Do you have an old camera that you no longer use but which is still working
fine?
In cooperation with a local artist, photographer and politician we will give
young and children from the indigenous societies the opportunity to via
photo show us their world.

In cooperation with a local artist, photographer and politician we will give
young and children from the indigenous societies the opportunity to via
photo show us their world.
One of the main goals of this project is to enhance their own cultural roots
through documentation of everyday tasks. However, it is also important to
show the world indigenous peoples established ways of life to promote
respect and awareness from the outside world.
The first project will be conducted with the indigenous group Shawi in the
village Balsapuerto, in the Loreto region.
Like many other indigenous groups the Shawi population live under
pressure from economic groups that want to acquire their territories.
In addition, their cultural heritage, including religious persuasions threatened
by the missionary activities of various western religions.
We want to collect 30-50 cameras to be handed out to them so they can take
pictures, and over the summer we will have a exhibition where the images will
be displayed. It will be possible to purchase the photos.
With the money we receive through the sale of the photos we will provide
Reading and writing classes to the indigenous, both adults and children.
When they can read and write they stand stronger when they are presented
contracts they are asked to sign.
We have already investigated if they are interested in this type of training.
Many tribes do not want to adapt to the world outside the Amazon, but now
many recognize that this type of knowledge is more about protecting
themselves and their roots than being pushed into a modern world .
So if you have a camera you can spare, we will be very happy for your
contribution.
The camera should function properly and without any defect.
If it is digital it must also have the charger.
We are also happy if you want to support the project financially.
Your contribution can be deposited in account No.: 9722 37 22397 -
