Labber på vei!

Nå er alle bestillinger og penger sendt til Peru :)
Jentene i Peru setter igang arbeidet med å finne rette størrelser og farger vi har bestilt.
Vi satser på at postgangen går fort og at vi har labbene her til slutten av april :)

Now the list and money has been sent to Peru :)
The girls in Peru will now make sure to get the right size and colors we have ordered.
We hope the postage goes fast and that we receive the socks here by the end of april :)

Til alle dere som har støttet oss i 2010: TUSEN TAKK!

Her kommer litt informasjon og bilder fra hjelpen vi kunne gi takket være dere.

Vi har kontakt med en prest utenfor Cusco som hjelper små samfunn av urinnbyggere.
Chuchauccasa (som ligger 4200 moh), Paccayura, Progreso, Huayllati og Pampahuite.

Det ble levert matvarer til de eldre og deres familier, og det ble arrangert julefest for barna.
Jeg tror ikke jeg trenger å skrive så mye mer, bildene taler for seg selv...

Here is some information and pictures from theChristmas project 2010, help we could give thanks to you.

We are in contact with a priest outside of Cusco, who is helping the small communities of the natives.
Chuchauccasa, Paccayura, Progreso, Huayllati og Pampahuite.

We helped in providing food for the elderly and their families, and there were arranged a christmas party for the children.

I don`t think I need to write too much as the pictures will speake for themselves.

Peru en mi corazon!

Yo me enamore en Peru, su gente, la cultura, la comida, las energias, desde la primera vez que conoci a este paìs magico! Mi primer visita a Peru fue en enero 2006. Y desde este tiempo algo se cambio en mi para siempre. Este pais me robe un rincon de mi corazon! Tenia que regresar, y en abril 2007 regresò para conocer mas y experimentar mas de Peru.

Yo decidì que quiero dar algo devuelta a este pais que me ha dado este magia!
Espero que con este proyecto de las calsetines puedemos ayudar a mucha gente que necesitan ayuda.

Quiero decir gracias a mi querida amiga Ursula quien me esta ayudando en hacer este proyecto.
Gracias angelita! Y gracias a todos ustedes quien tambien la esta ayudando!

Reisen til Peru og hvordan det hele begynte...

Mitt første besøk til Peru var i januar 2006. Allerede da hjulene på flyet traff bakken kunne jeg føle magien dette landet byr på! Peru er ekte! Man ser fattigdom, sorg, glede, smilende fjes. Her kan man ikke skjule seg bak masker.
Mitt andre besøk til Peru var i april 2007. Når du først har vært der en gang er det noe som trekker deg tilbake!

Jeg bestemte meg for å gi noe tilbake til disse fantastisk menneskene, dette landet som får meg til å føle meg så levende og virkelig!
Jeg kontaktet min gode venninne i Lima og spurte om hun ville hjelpe meg. Vi begynte i det små, hun sendte meg håndstrikkede alpakka ull labber som venner og kjente kjøpte, pengene vi hadde til overs gikk til å hjelpe forskjellige institusjoner. Vi kjøper labbene fra kvinner som trenger en hjelpende hånd i hverdagen til å få hjulene til å gå rundt. En del av pengene har gått til å dele ut mat-pakker, bestående av ris, korn, pasta. Vi har hjulpet et gamlehjem, og et senter for kreftsyke.

Det mest fantastiske er at vi ser nå at flere og flere mennesker ønsker å bidra, ikke bare i Norge men også i Peru. Lokalmiljøet rundt min venninne i Lima har også begynt å bidra på den måten de har anledning til å bidra. 

Vår drøm er at en dag kan vi kanskje få laget våre egne hjem og større prosjekter.
Et langsiktig mål, men ikke umulig!

Travel to Peru and how it all started...

My first visit to Peru was in january 2006. Already when we touched ground I felt the magic this country offers. And as I got to know more of the people, the culture the food. Magic is exactly the word to describe Peru!
You see poverty beyond what you can imagine. Little kids begging for food, money or whatever you can give them, old people sleeping on cardboard boxes on the pavement. But inspite all this they meet you with smiling faces, kind words, a sincere interest in knowing who you are.
My second visit to Peru was in april 2007. When you first have been there once, something make you wanna go back!

When you see how grateful people are for small gifts, and experience how well people treat you despite they have so much less than you, it touches your heart in a very profound way.
I decided to try to give something back to these amazing people so I contacted my very good friend in Peru and asked her if she would help me. To rise money we decided to sell handknitted alpakka wool socks that is sold in Peru. I took orders here n Norway, my friend organized the shipment from Peru and the money we had left we spent on charity.
During 2010 we have been able to help several people. We have provided food for old people living in old homes, people under treatment for cancer, and supported small families that need a extra hand. The socks are bought from women who are carefullly picked out, women that can use some extra help to support their families.
The amazing thing is that we see more and more people who are interested in supporting this project, not only in Norway but also in Peru.
The local community of my friend in Lima who have heard about this project have started their own projects. Collecting clothes and toys for kids living in orphanages, volunteering to help by transporting sick people to their appointments in the hospital. Little things that mean so much.

Our dream is that one day we can have our own run home for people in need!
A longterm goal, but not impossible!
